This is an accelerated test for reliability evaluation of mechanical parts and soldering strength by changing the temperature in sharp ramp from a high temperature to a low temperature or vice versa. For example, the operating/storage temperature of DUT will change from +90 °C to -45 °C in a few seconds.
By repeating thermal shocks, defects in the mechanical design, material strength or soldering quality will be identified。
